Services
for Adults Living with Stroke and Brain Injury
Cognitive Therapy
What it is?
After a stroke or brain injury, people often need help making sense of their thinking skills, including attention, memory, and cognition as well as reading, writing, and mathematics. They understandably hope to return to their life before the injury, including employment, hobbies, socializing, and daily living activities.
Kalynn works with her clients to develop compensatory strategies, so that they can manage life’s challenges more adeptly. She helps them envision a new future for themselves, which includes integrating the skills learned in therapy.

Counseling Therapy
What it is?
After a stroke or brain injury, many people aren’t sure whether they have memory or speech issues. They wonder whether they will be able to function the way they used to. Family members often expect them to be “normal” again, or at least more independent. Clients and families often look to therapists like Kalynn to counsel them in their treatment options.
Kalynn’s knowledge and years of experience enables her to treat the whole person: social, emotional, and cognitive. The counseling she provides complements her cognitive and speech therapy services and often includes education, resources, and referrals. She is able to address and effectively treat the many challenges that often accompany brain injuries.
