for Adults Living with Stroke and Brain Injury

Cognitive Therapy

What it is?

After a stroke or brain injury, people often need help making sense of their thinking skills, including attention, memory, and cognition as well as reading, writing, and mathematics. They understandably hope to return to their life before the injury, including employment, hobbies, socializing, and daily living activities.

Kalynn works with her clients to develop compensatory strategies, so that they can manage life’s challenges more adeptly. She helps them envision a new future for themselves, which includes integrating the skills learned in therapy.

Approach

Kalynn creates a caring, compassionate environment in which her clients can explore the limitations that have arisen from their specific brain injury, try new strategies, practice skills, and figure out how to move forward.
