Biography
- An experienced therapist, Kalynn has helped hundreds of people cope with the challenges of living with stroke and brain injury.
Kalynn Stewart, M.S., CCC-SLP, helps adults with acquired and traumatic brain injuries improve their speech and cognition, learn coping strategies, and regain independence. She is a licensed speech-language pathologist who uses a variety of compensatory strategies to treat her patients, including:
- Cognitive therapy.
- Speech and language therapy.
- Patient and family counseling.
- Patient, family, and caregiver education.
For more than 25 years, she has helped patients, and often their families and caregivers, to adjust to living with a brain injury. She provides compassionate support as patients regain their confidence and helps them reintegrate into their community.
Kalynn received her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Manitoba in Canada and completed her M.S. in Communicative Disorders at San Francisco State University. Her rehabilitation experience includes helping individuals with complex neurological impairments in hospital, outpatient, and community settings.
In addition to her private practice, Kalynn also teaches speech and cognitive therapy classes at the Schurig Center for Brain Injury Recovery, a recognized outpatient therapeutic center located in Marin County, California.

As a therapist licensed by the State of California Board of Medical Examiners, Kalynn completes 30 hours of continuing education each year.
